One thing I noticed between healthy vegans on the VeganHealth site and in my own life and the ones who are now ex-vegans: saturated fat.
Here's some information on how much coconut oil rocks! Yes the last link is to a WAPF site and Dr. Mary Enig's work (she's not a dumb ass and her research on a coconut oil should be considered):

I am probably only a handful of vegans (I'm coming up with a different word instead of a vegan) who do not believe there is a connection between saturated fat and cholesterol and the rise in heart disease. I think that the rise in heart disease stems from eating too many refined carbohydrates and stress (nutritional and other forms). Anyway, call me a nut job. Here's some information, if you have any links to share, please send them to me.
Could sugar, not saturated fat and cholesterol, be the cause in heart disease?

So what if this turns out to be the case? That's we've bought a big lie? That saturated fat and, even dietary cholesterol, is not unhealthy, as long as you stop drinking the sodas and eating the buns? So what! No one was becoming vegan in record numbers anyway, so relax. There's way too much money in the statin business to disprove this. Did you know that research that started this idea was on vegetarian bunnies?
Nothing will change at all, except you might get healthier by adding coconut oil to your diet. Read the http://www.coconutdiet.com/cholesterol.htm page.
Interesting studies (though) I don't have the time to read them all. Two questions, what do you think about the fact that coconut is a different saturated fat than animal fats, in a healthy way? That doesn't negate the fact that a big ( not sole) reason of heart disease is saturated animal fat. Another thing we have to consider other countries as well when we claim that only soda and processed crap is the enemy, like Greece where the amount of processed, sugar and soda consumed isn't as big as America's and the animal's consumptions is as so are the heart issues. i:e I know about (too) many people who have serious heart issues and high cholesterol but their consumption of processed etc is limited while their meat etc very high. Sorry for my bad English.
ReplyDeleteA word for someone who still identifies as vegan in their heart, but doesn't want to associate with others who also claim that title...
ReplyDeleteCompassionate?

@Roselie. I have no idea. If they don't eat lots of vegetables, then they will not be healthy. Plus they would have to completely remove the refined carbs. The French also eat lots of sat fat, creams, but is it because they are eating lots of vegetables, are less stressed (they have health care and not sick care), are more active, it's their traditional diet? I see that there's massive heart disease in Greece where there used to be very little. I've pasted two links that when Greek are put on their traditional Mediterranean diet, then things improve.

I have no idea about the differences in animal fat and coconut fat. The three favorite fats by that Weston A. Price Doctor are Coconut, Olive, and Sesame. An animal who was factory farmed, one can imagine that the fat has lots of nasty stuff in it. More like a biohazard. Eating that might be a factor in stress among other stress from work or lifestyle. (Just sitting on your ass all day listening to a nut job and getting more fearful by the moment, is not good.)
Stress and heart attack risk:

Yes, calling myself compassionate, instead of vegan, would indicate that the other person is not compassionate. Each person is compassionate in their own way, most are more limited and just reserve it for their pets and family members or race. I thought of that, but decided it won't work as it makes people defensive. I was thinking of something like Empathetic, that answers the question in one word. But I still don't know if that will be good, what I want is a word that doesn't put up someone's defenses. When you say vegan or vegetarian, a lot of people get defensive. Then you can't really have a meaningful conversation about empathy. So I'll continue to think about it.
ReplyDelete3 Researches SHOW Why Coconut Oil Kills Fat.
ReplyDeleteThis means that you literally kill fat by consuming Coconut Fat (also coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).
These 3 studies from big medicinal journals are sure to turn the traditional nutrition world around!
